With a declining birthrate and an aging population, Japan’s population is shrinking. With no underground resources and insufficient domestic production of main foods, our country is increasingly becoming dependent on imports from abroad. Domestic production will continue to decline, and competition will intensify among domestic companies over the dwindling jobs and money. As a result, it will become difficult for companies to survive in Japan merely by relying on domestic capital, leading to the need to bring foreign capital. Nevertheless, Japan is a nation with great culture and intellectual properties like advanced technologies and creativity.
It is important to utilize these resources to create private brands and expand overseas to bring in foreign capital. What we must do now is to build the foundation for bridging our country with the rest of the world. Starting out with a footpath that will be turned into a highway by the next generation, we must build the foundation for this road to be completed by several generations.
